Hodgkin?s Lymphoma

Hodgkin’s lymphoma, sometimes referred to as Hodgkin’s Disease, is a type of cancer that affects the lymphatic system. It typically begins in enlarged lymph nodes in the neck, chest, or underarm and can spread to other areas of the body. It is characterized by the presence of Reed-Sternberg cells, a type of abnormal white blood cell. Treatment of Hodgkin’s lymphoma usually involves chemotherapy and/or radiation therapy. With timely diagnosis and treatment, the outlook for most people with this type of cancer is good.
