- I joined the Belmonte Lab in 2011 and have been studying blood disorders, such as sickle cell disease and Wiskott-Aldrich syndrome, using induced pluripotent stem cells derived from somatic cells that are specific to human patients.
- I have learned how to correct genes of interest using different gene editing techniques so that the corrected cells can be re-differentiated into the desired cell types to replace the patients' sick cells.
