Overview
Sunlight solar energy is energy from the sun, and it is one of the most important and most abundant sources of energy on Earth. Sunlight solar energy is renewable, meaning it can be used over and over again without diminishing in amount. It is also clean, meaning it does not produce any waste or pollution. Sunlight solar energy can be harnessed in many ways to generate electricity, heat homes and businesses, and power devices. Solar photovoltaic (PV) systems, which convert sunlight directly into electricity, are the most common form of solar energy. Other technologies such as solar thermal, concentrating solar thermal, and solar heating and cooling are also used to take advantage of the sun’s energy. Solar energy offers a renewable and sustainable energy solution, as well as many environmental benefits. It can reduce dependence on fossil fuels, lower energy costs and emissions, and provide a hedge against unpredictable energy prices.
