Overview

Glycan microarrays are a powerful tool for studying cell-surface carbohydrates or glycans. They allow scientists to investigate and compare the impact of different glycans on cellular processes such as cell-signaling and growth. Glycan microarrays enable quick, high-throughput analysis of glycans, as well as detailed characterization of individual glycans. In addition, they can be used to identify glycan biomarkers and predict the binding potential of glycan-binding proteins. Additionally, they play an important role in drug discovery, as many drugs interact with glycans on the cell surface. Thus, glycan microarrays are a valuable tool in biological research and drug development.
