Overview

Reproductive health services are the organised clinical and public-health interventions that support people throughout their reproductive lives, including contraception and family planning, antenatal and maternal care, sexual and reproductive health education, screening and treatment of infections, and harm-reduction and rights-based programmes. Their reach and effectiveness depend on availability, accessibility, acceptability, and quality, and on overcoming barriers of cost, distance, stigma, and gender. The research collected here reflects these dimensions through studies of barriers to sexual and reproductive healthcare for marginalised women, reproductive health knowledge and service utilisation among rural adolescents, the integration of traditional maternal care with national health systems, and harm-reduction programmes delivered through community safety policy. Further work addresses preconception care, adolescent reproductive rights, the determinants of teenage pregnancy, the experiences of pregnant students, and menopausal symptoms affecting women's occupational needs. Together they examine service design, access, utilisation, and equity across adolescent, maternal, and midlife populations in diverse countries and care settings. The journal publishes peer-reviewed research on the organisation, delivery, uptake, and outcomes of reproductive health services within the broader field of Women's Reproductive Health.
