Overview

pathway The mTOR (mammalian/mechanistic target of rapamycin) signaling pathway is a major enzyme involved in cell growth, proliferation and metabolism. It plays a crucial role in the regulation of a wide range of cellular processes such as cell cycle progression, protein synthesis and metabolism. In addition, it has been implicated in a number of human diseases, including cancer, metabolic and neurodegenerative disorders. Therefore, research into this pathway is important in order to understand and explore potential therapeutic interventions. In recent years, there has been a lot of progress in the modulating of mTOR signaling by drugs, natural products and genetic engineering. These advances have made mTOR pathway inhibitors one of the most promising drug targets for the treatment of various diseases.
