1. Manuscript Categories

JHP welcomes a wide range of manuscripts that contribute significantly to the field of psychological science. We categorize submissions into the following types:

Original Research

Reports of novel empirical or computational studies delivering significant insights into behavioral processes or clinical psychology. Typical structure: Abstract, Intro, Methods, Results, Discussion, Conclusion.

Systematic Reviews

Comprehensive syntheses of existing literature providing new meta-analytic insights or theoretical integrations. Adherence to PRISMA or MOOSE reporting guidelines is mandatory.

Clinical Case series

Detailed reports of practical clinical implementations or unique patient observations that offer significant lessons for practitioners. Limited to 4,000 words.

Brief Communications

Concise reports of preliminary findings, technical breakthroughs, or urgent behavioral updates. Limited to 2,500 words with up to 3 figures/tables.

2. Manuscript Formatting Integrity
2.1 General Preparation
  • Language: English (American or British consistently). Ensure professional and inclusive terminology.
  • File Format: Microsoft Word (.doc or .docx). Figures and tables should be embedded at the end of the manuscript for review.
  • Typography: 12-point Times New Roman; double-spaced; 1-inch margins.
  • Structure: Title Page, Abstract, Keywords, Main Text, Acknowledgments, Declarations, References.
2.2 Essential Title Page

The title page must be a separate section containing:

  • Descriptive article title (≤25 words).
  • Full author names (First, Middle Initial, Last) with precise affiliations.
  • Corresponding author details: Institutional mailing address, phone number, and official email.
  • Total word count (excluding references) and running head (≤50 characters).
2.3 Abstract & Strategic Keywords
  • Structured Abstract: Maximum 250 words with headings: Background, Methods, Results, Conclusion.
  • Keywords: 5–10 specific terms from psychological lexicons (e.g., APA Thesaurus) to optimize discoverability.
3. Main Text Implementation
  • Introduction: Clearly state the research problem, existing literature gaps, and the study's specific objectives.
  • Methods: Provide sufficient detail for replication. Describe population samples, statistical software versions, and ethical approvals.
  • Results: Present findings logically using text, figures, and tables. Avoid redundant data representation across formats.
  • Discussion: Interpret findings in the context of broader theory. Recognize limitations and discuss practical implications for clinical or behavioral practice.
  • Conclusion: Summarize the core contribution and future research vectors.
4. Citations & References (Vancouver Style)

JHP utilizes the Vancouver citation style. References must be numbered sequentially in the text using square brackets [1].

5. Visual Informatics (Figures & Tables)

High-Resolution Figures

Submit TIFF or PNG files at ≥300 DPI. Use consistent labeling (A, B, C) for multi-panel figures. Ensure all text within figures is legible at final publication size.

Editable Tables

Create tables within Word using the "Table" tool. Avoid image-based tables. Include concise titles and footnotes for all statistical abbreviations.

6. Ethical Compliance & Data Transparency

JHP adheres to the highest standards of publishing ethics (COPE guidelines). Authors must include:

  • Human Rights: IRB/Ethics Committee approval number and confirmation of informed consent.
  • Data Availability: A specific statement indicating where raw data or code can be accessed (e.g., GitHub, Zenodo).
  • Conflicts of Interest: Disclosure of any financial or professional relationships that could bias the research.
  • Funding: Explicit acknowledgment of grants or institutional financial support.

Article Processing Charges:
