JAPST uses open access licensing to maximize the reach and reuse of published research.

Author rights and open access

Authors retain copyright to their work and grant JAPST the right to publish, distribute, and archive the article. All papers are released under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 (CC BY 4.0) license.

This license supports broad reuse while ensuring authors receive proper credit for their work. Commercial reuse is permitted under CC BY 4.0 as long as attribution is maintained. This enables educational, clinical, and industry reuse globally.

What CC BY 4.0 allows

The CC BY 4.0 license allows others to copy, distribute, remix, and build upon the work for any purpose, including commercial use, as long as proper attribution is provided. This increases research visibility and accelerates translation into practice.

Reuse and attribution guidance

When reusing JAPST content, always credit the original authors, journal title, year, and DOI. Indicate if changes were made and link to the CC BY 4.0 license. This protects author rights while enabling broad dissemination.

• Note adaptations or translations clearly.
• Provide a link to the published version of record.

Third-party materials

If your manuscript includes figures, tables, or images owned by third parties, you must obtain permission for reuse and clearly cite the source. Documentation should be retained and provided to the editorial office upon request.

Authors are responsible for ensuring that all content complies with copyright and licensing requirements. If permission is required, include the permission statement in the figure legend or acknowledgments. Add citations as required.

Author posting rights

Authors may share the published version of record on personal websites, institutional repositories, or funding portals, as long as the article is properly cited and linked to the journal site.

This supports funder compliance and improves the reach of pharmaceutical research across academic and industry communities. It also supports institutional reporting.

Author responsibilities

• Ensure originality and provide proper attribution for reused content.
• Disclose funding, conflicts of interest, and author contributions.
• Respect patient privacy and data protection requirements.
• Provide accurate metadata for titles, abstracts, and keywords.

Supplementary materials and datasets should follow the same attribution practices. If separate data licenses are used, clearly state them in the data availability section.

Corrections and version control

If substantive errors are identified after publication, JAPST may issue a correction or update notice. The version of record remains the authoritative citation, and corrections are linked for transparency.

This protects the integrity of the scholarly record while allowing readers to see any updates clearly.
