Journal of Migraine Management

Aims and Scope

The journal Migraine Management (JMM) offers comprehensive coverage of all aspects related to the diagnosis, pathophysiology, management, and treatments for migraine. It offers a platform for professionals, clinicians, and researchers to share and discuss the latest advances in migraine management.

Migraine is a common neurological disorder characterized by recurrent headaches, usually on one side of the head. It is the third most prevalent and seventh most disabling medical condition worldwide. Migraine attacks are usually accompanied by sensitivity to light, sound, and smell, as well as nausea and vomiting. Over the last few decades, the landscape of migraine management has changed drastically with the introduction of newer medications.

Non-pharmacological approaches, such as lifestyle modifications and behavioral therapies, are, in some cases, the only therapies needed, while other approaches are used in combination with medications to improve their effectiveness. Lifestyle management involves strategies such as sleep hygiene and stress management, while behavioral procedures, such as relaxation and biofeedback, can reduce migraine symptoms.

The scope of JMM covers topics from clinical and basic research to the evaluation and treatment of headache disorders, including the use of surgical, and behavioral approaches. This includes the epidemiology, etiology, and natural history of migraine, as well as reviews on novel treatment strategies and novel delivery systems of existing therapies. It further includes papers describing new imaging, laboratory, and electrophysiological studies that contribute to the understanding of the pathophysiology of migraine. Special sections dedicated to preventive treatments and to pediatric migraine are also available.

JMM publishes articles that focus on improving clinical practices and patient care, ameliorating the socioeconomic burden of migraine, migraine management, medications, therapies, lifestyle modifications, and research on effective treatments. Authors from all healthcare professions, including nurses, pharmacists, and psychologists, are welcomed and encouraged to submit their work. JMM is universally accessible and encourages authors from all countries to contribute.

Journal of Migraine Management(JMM) has a multidisciplinary approach, seeking to provide perspectives on migraine from practitioners of a variety of specialties and it is devoted to understanding the causes and consequences of migraine disease, as well as identifying and applying the most effective treatments. We focus on providing evidence-based insights into the diagnosis and treatment of migraine, including pharmacological and non-pharmacological therapies. Our ultimate goal is to improve patient care by disseminating the most beneficial practices to medical professionals and by providing support to patients through enhanced education and symptom management.

We welcome submissions from research and clinical practitioners in the field of migraine disorder, as well as researchers and clinicians from related disciplines. Submissions should focus on helping medical professionals to better detect and treat chronic migraine, provide an improved understanding of migraine and its etiology, and/or offer improved migraine management strategies
