The publisher’s submission portal. It carries the manuscript, the files and the correspondence through review in one place, and it is the route most authors use.
Simple manuscript submission form
A short web form for authors who would rather not open a portal account. This journal is already selected on it.
The editorial office
Write to the editorial office and a member of staff will open the submission with you. This route suits a manuscript with unusual files, or an author who would like to ask about fit first.
Authors must use only one submission route for the same manuscript.

Each of these is set out in full on its own page. Checking them first is the difference between a manuscript that goes straight to an editor and one that comes back.
- Does the work fit? The journal’s remit covers proteomics on its own, genomics on its own, and justified integration of the two. The question is whether that contribution is central to the study. Aims and Scope

What happens next
All submissions undergo initial editorial screening. Manuscripts that meet the journal’s scope and minimum requirements proceed to independent peer review.
Single-blind by default; double-blind review is available on request. Manuscripts that proceed to external peer review are normally evaluated by at least two independent subject-matter experts.
Editorial decisions are based on scope, scientific quality, methodological rigor, ethical compliance, reporting quality, and relevance to the journal. The charge is raised after a decision has been reached, by people other than the editors who reached it. Billing and fee-relief inquiries are handled by the editorial office and take no part in the editorial decision.
