Membership connects clinicians, researchers, and institutions to a trusted publishing platform focused on animal health, veterinary practice, and One Health outcomes. It is designed to make publishing more predictable while strengthening visibility for veterinary research that improves care for companion animals, livestock, wildlife, and public health.
As a member you receive APC support, recognition, and editorial guidance without compromising the independence of peer review. Membership does not influence editorial decisions and does not guarantee acceptance.
Veterinary research is interdisciplinary by nature, spanning clinical medicine, diagnostics, surgery, epidemiology, animal welfare, and zoonotic disease prevention. Membership helps teams publish consistently by providing predictable APC support and clear guidance on submission requirements.
For new or growing research groups, membership also offers a professional channel for collaboration, mentorship, and editorial communication. It is particularly useful for authors who publish multiple articles across the year or who coordinate multi-site veterinary studies.

APC waivers are applied after acceptance, never at the time of editorial decision. Peer review remains independent and membership status does not influence acceptance or rejection. Once a manuscript is accepted, the membership team confirms eligibility and applies the waiver or discount to the invoice.
If a member submits multiple manuscripts, waivers are applied until the membership allocation is used. Any remaining balance can be paid by the author, institution, or sponsor. For clarification, contact the membership office before submitting your invoice request.
- Include membership details in the cover letter or submission notes.
- Editorial review proceeds without reference to payment or membership.
- Upon acceptance, the invoice is issued and the waiver is applied.
- Receipts are provided once payment is completed.
Membership strengthens the visibility of veterinary scholarship by supporting open access publishing. Articles remain freely accessible to clinicians, technicians, students, and animal health decision makers worldwide, helping evidence translate into practice.
Members receive updates on journal initiatives, policy guidance, and evolving standards in veterinary medicine. This creates a shared community that keeps members informed about clinical priorities and emerging research methods.
- Early alerts on calls for papers and special issues.
- Promotion tips for improving citations and clinical reach.
- Invitations to virtual sessions or editorial updates when available.
Journal of Veterinary Healthcare follows publication ethics aligned with COPE. Authors must confirm animal welfare compliance, institutional ethics approvals, and data availability statements where applicable. Membership does not replace these requirements and manuscripts lacking ethical documentation may be returned for revision.
Does membership guarantee acceptance?
No. Editorial decisions are based on scope, methodology, and ethics compliance, independent of payment or membership status.
Can non-members submit?
Yes. The journal accepts submissions from all authors. Membership simply offers APC support and additional services.
Can waivers be combined with funder support?
Yes. Authors can use institutional or grant funding for any remaining balance after the waiver is applied.
How long does membership setup take?
